Volvo 66, 343, 340, 360

The Volvo 300 series were a series of compact medium-sized cars.

They were designed in the early 70s by DAF. In 1975 however, DAF was taken over by Volvo.

The original concept was meant for the DAF 77 or 88, which Volvo had planned to launch as the Volvo 343 in 1976. The concept, however, had to be adjusted to Volvo’s standards first.

From 1988 onwards the 300-series were replaced by the 400 series, which were also designed in the Netherlands. Finally in 1991 the curtain fell for the 300 series. The last copies left the Volvo dealers’ showrooms in 1992.
